The 13th edition of Capital Fashion Week, fashion week in the city of Brasilia, Brazil, happens between August 14 and 17 at CasaPark, an important shopping mall in the city. The project has as its main priorities to launch young designers of the Midwest region, through the contest “Jovens Talentos (Young Talents)”, and to value the production of clothes, jewelry, handbags and local crafts.
In addition to the fashion shows, which will be held in the coming Wednesday (15) and Thursday (16), the event will offer lectures and workshops. Whereas, CFW Business, a trade fair, shall feature 80 brands in the exposition, in addition to a pop up store.
Among the attractions of the Capital Fashion Week, there is the exhibition “Fotografando e Andando (Photographing and Walking)”, which features the street fashion in Europe. The show is part of the Fotografos a Bordo (Onboard Photographers) project, curated by Lincon Iff. The images offer a trip to the European costumes, fashion, behavior, and architecture.
The innovation this year is the partnership of the fashion week and the Japan Foundation and Embassy of Japan. Hiroyuki Horihata and Makiko Sekiguchi, designers of the Motahu brand, were invited to participate in the project. They will present their creations on August 15, at 6:00 pm.
